New Task

To create a New Task in the Office Accelerator calendar, follow the directions below

  1. Open the Office Accelerator Calendar and select |Edit|New Task|, or you can use the |Add a New Task| button on the Calendar Main Tool Bar. Fill out the New Task form and click the |Save| button. All tasks will continue to roll over to the next day until marked as complete. Completed tasks will remain on the day they were marked complete.

    Description
    Task Inbox Checking this option will send the task to the selected users Task Inbox.
    Subject Enter the Subject for the New Task into this field.
    Comment Enter task comments into this field. Comments can be optionally hidden or displayed within the Tasks to Do section of the calendar.
    Save Clicking this button will save your task to the Task To Do section of the calendar.
    Cancel Clicking this button will Cancel the New Task operation and discard any information you entered.
    Follow up with (New Task) Checking this box will open the |New Task| screen for the purpose of creating another task.
    Follow up with (New Appt) Checking this box will open the |New Task| screen for the purpose of creating a new Appointment.
    Start Date Used to set a start date for the Task.
    Due Date Used to set a due date for the task. When due date has past, task text will change to red font and task will be denoted as 'overdue'.
    Reminder Used to set task reminder. Reminder will spawn at scheduled time, calendar must be opened to receive reminders.
    Reminder Used to set task reminder. Reminder will spawn at schedule time, calendar must be opened to receive reminders.
    Categories Use the categories option to add the task to an existing category.
    Status Provides the following status options: Not Started, In Progress, Complete (Done), Waiting, and Deferred. Tasked set to done will no longer roll over to the next day.
    Date Complete Sets a completion date for the task. Task will continue to roll over to next day until date complete is reached.
    Priority Sets priority on task to High (A), Medium (B) or Low (C). High priority tasks are denoted in red text by default. Additional numeric priority can be set from 0 to 99 the highest numeric value (99) being the highest priority.
    Contacts Used to link task to Accelerator contact. Click the |Set Links| button to search for and link contact.
    Is Private If checked, task is only visible to the user the task is assigned or sent to, and the user that assigned the task.

  2. Your new task will be displayed within the calendar Task section.  You can use the |New Task| link to create a New Task, and the sort the task by priority, subject, or due date.  Additional task option are available by right clicking a task.
